Crescendo Automation/Audio/Video

I'd like to introduce myself...
April 14, 2019

Hello! I’d like to introduce myself.  I’m Erica Rasti, Owner Jeremy’s wife, and co-blogger.  In my entries I’ll be expressing my views of the automation and audio/video world based on my experiences living with the technology.  Unlike Jeremy, I wasn’t exposed to or interested in this topic until I had it handed to me to play with.  Now that I know how it benefits my daily life, I’m slightly hooked on it!

When Jeremy started Crescendo AAV, he was talking about putting a system in our home that could control the TV, audio, lights, the thermostat and just about whatever we would like.  At the time I acted like I knew what he was talking about but, really, I didn’t.  I didn’t know what the “system” would look like or how I would control it.  He talked about things like programming, cable management and networking.  Networking? Like meeting new people?  Obviously, I had some learning to do.

When we started out, we had a basic home theater area.  We had our TV with on-wall speakers, our sub on the floor, a Blu-ray player, a gaming system, a media server (we had a ROKU) and our remotes (4 of them).   In my eyes, this was a pretty nice set-up.  It was great for watching movies and my weekly shows.  Jeremy could get into his video games and I’d enjoy watching them.  Our home entertainment center was full of equipment and our coffee table was looking like a corral for remotes. But, I didn’t see anything wrong with it.  Now I realize that’s because I didn’t know it could be any different.

In the coming blogs I’ll be talking about how we progressed to where we are now in our home.  You’ll learn how we went from cluttered to clean.  I’ll let you know what we were able to add to our set-up to make the experience even better and how we came to those decisions.  Follow the blog not only to hear about one room in our home but how we expanded the system to encompass all of our living spaces.  Remember, this is coming from someone who is not highly into technology but who has come to appreciate its value.

I look forward to sharing with you!
